Spinning on my Axis
I tried to let them die
Each world that once defined me
Lungs burning, full of ashes
Of sacred sites I almost made my home.
Great gusts of fate
Daring me to decimate
my fortress of defenses.
Another threshold taunts me —
What does it demand?
A trail, a trove of corpses —
Past selves I might have learned from
Not ready to acknowledge
What’s been swept back out to sea
Now those ruins rumble
As turbulence comes creeping in
I’m spinning on my axis
Paranoid peripheral vision
Dreams collapse
and writhe unbidden
I let them crash,
Wash over me
Eroding all attachment
Without falling prey to the illusion
That all is, and will be, lost.
Without falling prey to the illusion
That anything cannot be.

Beautiful my friend. Also, did you draw the drawing? Such beauty. Such imagery.
“A trail, a trove of corpses” stayed with me. something in that line hit deeper than expected 🤍
